According to the latest data from leading global shipbroker Clarksons, Jiangmen Nanyang Ship Engineering Co., Ltd. (JNS) has secured a new batch of overseas newbuilding orders, signing contracts to build 11 Supramax and Handysize bulk carriers worth a total of 350 million U.S. dollars.

As one of China's leading builders of Handysize bulk carriers, JNS has built a strong position in the market for small and medium-sized energy-efficient bulk carriers. With adaptable, low-carbon designs, reliable delivery, and strong cost competitiveness, the company has steadily expanded its global market share.
The shipyard maintained strong ordering momentum in the first half of the year. In March, it secured an order from Swiss shipowner Suisse-Atlantique for five Ultramax bulk carriers worth about 167.5 million U.S. dollars. In late April, JNS signed contracts to build 15 bulk carriers of 40,500 deadweight tonnes (DWT), valued at about 447 million U.S. dollars. In early June, Jinhui Holdings Company Limited placed an additional order for two 64,500-DWT bulk carriers worth 68.3 million U.S. dollars.

Amid sustained overseas demand, Jiangmen's ship exports rose 21.2 percent year on year in the first five months of 2026. Following the latest order, JNS's order book now stands at more than 120 vessels, with deliveries scheduled through 2031 and its production lines running at full capacity.
