Guangdong Week at Expo Osaka to kick off at June 27

Guangdong Week of the China Pavilion is scheduled to take place from June 27 to 29 at Expo 2025 Osaka, as revealed at a press conference held by the Information Office of the Guangdong Provincial Government on June 19.

Centered around Guangdong's greenness and smart innovation, the event will feature a series of exchanges in economy, trade, culture, and technology.

Economic and trade exchange events

Xie Huirong, Vice President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Guangdong Committee, introduced that two major exchange events will be the highlights during Guangdong Week.

On the morning of June 27, the opening ceremony of Guangdong Week will be held at the China Pavilion. Around 150 guests and representatives from the governments, economic and trade institutions, and enterprises of Japan and Guangdong will attend the event.

On the morning of June 28, an event promoting the investment environment of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and facilitating matchmaking between China and Japan in the big health industry will be held in Kobe, Japan. Over 300 representatives from Chinese and Japanese enterprises will gather to discuss cooperation opportunities in fields such as the health industry and intelligent manufacturing.

Special promotion events for key cities, including Guangzhou, Shaoguan, Zhongshan, and Yangjiang, will also be organized during Guangdong Week.

Showcasing Guangdong's smart life, ecology, and culture

From June 28 to 29, the China Pavilion will display Guangdong's explorations and practices in smart living and sustainable development. A Guangzhou Metro sandbox model will showcase smart transportation achievements such as "four-network integration" and "driverless shuttles," allowing visitors to experience the convenience of digital travel.

The UBTECH humanoid robot Walker C, developed in Guangdong, will provide intelligent guide and reception services on-site, offering a new human-machine interaction experience.

Xie Huirong mentioned that Guangdong Week will also showcase Guangdong's green ecological environment. Centered around a panoramic digital scroll, the exhibition will use dynamic projection and interactive technology to present ecological landmarks such as Nanling National Forest Park, the Pearl River Basin, and Zhanjiang Mangrove Forest.

During Guangdong Week, a series of cultural exchange activities will also be launched, featuring Guangdong's intangible cultural heritage masterpieces such as Yingge Dance, Cantonese Opera, Guangdong music, and Lion Dance at the Expo.

On the evening of June 28, a cultural exchange conference on Zen Buddhism will be held in Kyoto, interpreting Chinese Buddhist cultural classics through symphonic music to promote cultural exchanges and mutual learning in Zen Buddhism.

A "Cloud Expo" mini-program is set to go live soon. Global visitors who visit the China Pavilion during Guangdong Week can take photos with iconic elements such as the banyan tree, Lion Dance, Guangdong's ecological and environmental mascots, and robots, upload them to the mini-program, and receive exquisite cultural and creative products.
