Nansha Spring Festival Flower Fair officially opens

As the 2025 Chinese New Year approaches, a Spring Festival Flower Fair officially opened on January 22 along the Jiaomen River in Nansha district, Guangzhou.

People flock to the Jiaomen River to enjoy its bustling flower fair and enchanting lantern show along both banks.

The Jiaomen River banks buzz with life. At the flower fair, stalls selling flowers, couplets, and Chinese New Year goods are lined up in a stretch of three kilometers.

Visitors can pick their favorite flowers and soak in the vibrant festive atmosphere. Families wander between stalls, often with kids holding colorful pinwheels and smiling brightly.

When night falls, the Jiaomen River lantern show becomes a must-see attraction. Sixteen intricately designed theme lantern sets light up along the entire river, bringing people into a fairyland. The theme lanterns,  carrying auspicious meanings such as "Lion Dance Welcomes the Chinese New Year" and "Nansha's Prosperity", are visually stunning.

At dusk, couples may choose to take a stroll on Lingxi Bridge, enjoying this romantic moment. Red lanterns adorn the Civic Square, where people fly kites, take photos, and enjoy wonderful evening time.

In addition to the lantern show, visitors can also enjoy a variety of cultural activities. At Tai Chi Park, the community presents a visual feast for the visitors. Moreover, a series of intangible cultural heritage exhibitions are also quite spectacular. Interactive sessions allow tourists to participate in traditional customs firsthand, further enriching the festival.
