Magical 'Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience' to open in Shenzhen

Following sell-out tours in the US, the UK, Singapore, Australia, and more, the breathtaking 'Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience' is making its China debut in Shenzhen.

The announcement was made at the 21st China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF 2025), which opened on May 22. As part of the fair, a signing ceremony was held for 18 major cultural projects landing in Guangdong Province, with a combined value exceeding 1.6 billion yuan (approximately 221.76 million US dollars). The Harry Potter experience is one of these projects.

As an immersive night walk produced by Warner Bros. Discovery, Fever, and IMG, the 'Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience' is set in a real forest environment inspired by the Forbidden Forest scenes from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films.

In addition to the Harry Potter project, the list of signed cultural projects spans film, theatre, animation, gaming, and public libraries. Among them, DNEG 360×Dimension, a global visual effects and virtual production company, plans to establish its Asia headquarters in Houjie, Dongguan, which is expected to include a 90,000-square-meter base for film and visual effects production.

Also announced at the fair, Chinese tech and gaming company NetEase plans to host a world-class esports tournament in Shenzhen this December, bringing together top professional teams from around the world.
