Guangzhou invites the world to name its landmark 54th-floor bookstore

Guangzhou is inviting people around the world to help give a name to a new bookstore 320 meters above the ground.

The global naming campaign for the 54th-floor bookstore located in the Guangzhou International Cultural Center (GICC) was launched at the main venue of the 2026 Southern China Book Fair in Guangzhou on August 29, 2026.

The landmark bookstore is envisioned as a cultural space for book launches, literary discussions and talks on art and aesthetics, offering readers a unique place to enjoy reading while taking in panoramic views of Guangzhou.

GICC, developed by Southern Publishing & Media, stands 320 meters tall and has a gross floor area of about 162,000 square meters, with a total investment of approximately 4.56 billion yuan (US$638 million).

The campaign runs through September 25, 2026. People worldwide are invited to take part and help name this new cultural landmark in Guangzhou.
