Qianhai hosts Greater Bay Area's largest international talent job fair

Over 1,150 young talents from more than 20 countries, including Germany, Russia, and India, flocked to the Qianhai International Talent Hub on March 9 for the Greater Bay Area's largest international recruitment event. Organized under the guidance of the Shenzhen Municipal Science and Technology Innovation Bureau and the Public Security Bureau, the fair saw 40 leading companies, such as Tencent, OPPO, SF Express, and Insta360, offer 1,200 high-quality positions targeting foreign talent.

The event, part of Qianhai's "International Talent Recruitment Initiative," focused on key industries like electronics, advanced manufacturing, digital innovation, and logistics. Patrick, a Norwegian campus recruitment manager at Tencent, highlighted the company's urgent demand for globally minded talent to support its overseas expansion, with over 7,000 roles currently open. "We welcome both recent graduates and experienced professionals," he said, noting opportunities in production, animation, gaming, and marketing for students graduating between September 2025 and December 2026.

OPPO representatives praised attendees' strong language skills and qualifications, calling the recruitment efficiency "beyond expectations." An online portal on the In Qianhai website extended opportunities to those unable to attend in person. Collaborations with 11 universities, including Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) and Shenzhen University, ensured targeted outreach to international students.

Russia-born Regina, a first-year graduate student at Shenzhen University, praised the event’s scale and relevance: "Shenzhen is a tech hub—I hope to build my career here." Attendees also benefited from on-site services like resume printing and professional photo sessions. Gray, a Tanzanian job seeker, emphasized the fair’s streamlined visa support: "Companies here understand how to hire foreigners—it solves a major hurdle."

Innovative features included career coaching sessions, resume critiques, and a "talent benefits package" offering policy guidance, discounted hotel stays, and traditional Chinese medicine therapy. Indian applicant Arpit traveled from Hong Kong, calling the event a "golden chance" to explore roles in Qianhai. French job seeker Max Lesguillons, relocating to Shenzhen for personal reasons, praised the timing amid China's visa-free policies for French citizens.

With over 1,500 applicants, the fair marked the largest foreigner-focused recruitment drive in the Greater Bay Area since 2021. "As companies expand globally, international talent is crucial," said Chen Shuang, deputy general manager of Qianhai International Talent Service Center. The initiative will expand with year-round online-offline combined events and overseas recruitment tours in Europe, North America, and Asia.

Aligned with Guangdong's plan to attract 1 million talents by 2025, Qianhai aims to cement its role as a global talent hub, offering seamless employment pathways to strengthen the Greater Bay Area's position as a world-class urban cluster.
