The orienteering event for the masses runs from May 8 to 11, spanning orienteering and radio direction finding across eight venues in four districts of Maoming. It features 438 athletes from 38 teams representing 23 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities, and Hong Kong and Macao.

As host, Guangdong—along with Hong Kong and Macao—was granted direct access to the finals, bypassing preliminaries. Guangdong has fielded a 26-member delegation, evenly split between the two main sports categories, while Hong Kong and Macao sent 18 and 10 participants, respectively.
