A spectacular light and sound show illuminated the skies above Panlong Tianhu Square in Yunfu, southern China, from October 30 to November 1, drawing tens of thousands of spectators to celebrate the upcoming 15th National Games.
The nightly 15-minute displays, projected onto the lake's surface and surrounding landscape, merged sports imagery with the city's cultural heritage, highlighting Yunfu's role as a host for the hockey events during the games.
Beams of light swept across the water, depicting the games' mascot alongside dynamic hockey players and patterns inspired by local stone carvings and Zen philosophy. The show captivated families, students, and even athletes who will compete in the tournament.
The event aimed to reinforce Yunfu's identity as a "City of Hockey." Elements like stone sculptures, animations, and scenes of the Xijiang River symbolized the area's industrial vitality and connection to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
