Eintracht Frankfurt (Shenzhen Nanshan) Football Training Center welcomes its first national team

On the afternoon of February 8, Jordan's National Team arrived at the Eintracht Frankfurt (Shenzhen Nanshan) Football Training Center (hereinafter referred to as "the Center") for a pre-match training session in preparation for the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2025 (hereinafter referred to as the "U20 Asian Cup"). This is the first national team to train at the Center since its opening in November 2024.

The U20 Asian Cup is one of the most prestigious youth continental tournaments under the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The 2025 edition will take place in Shenzhen from February 12 to March 1, marking the city's first intercontinental football tournament of the year. A total of 16 national teams from across Asia will compete for the championship, with the top four securing spots at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile later this year.

The Jordan National Team, a rising force in Asian football, has been making steady strides on the international stage in recent years. As part of their preparations, the team has chosen the Center for pre-tournament training. According to the U20 Asian Cup schedule, Jordan will face Saudi Arabia, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), and Iraq in the group stage from February 13 to 19.

During the training session, the Jordan National Team quickly got into high-intensity drills after their warm-up. Head coach Peter Meindertsma expressed his satisfaction with the facilities, stating, "We came to the Center to prepare for a stronger performance in the U20 Asian Cup. The field is excellent, featuring high-quality artificial grass with a fine texture. The facilities are top-notch and safe, while the park's quiet and comfortable environment provides the perfect setting for our training. I believe everyone who plays here will enjoy this field, and we are delighted to have had a training session today."

Located within Dasha River Park, the Center features an 11-a-side pitch and an 8-a-side pitch, as well as supporting facilities such as locker rooms, meeting rooms, and a strength training area. Designed and built to the highest standards, the two football pitches cover a total area of approximately 9,000 square meters, catering to the selection, development, and training of youth football teams, while also serving as a venue for district-level competitions. The facility has been awarded the FIFA Quality Pro certification—the highest level in FIFA's artificial turf quality and safety certification system.

In July 2021, Eintracht Frankfurt FC signed a service agreement with Shenzhen Nanshan Foreign Language School to establish the Eintracht Frankfurt Shenzhen Nanshan Football Academy, fostering extensive collaboration in youth player and coach development. Beyond football, the initiative serves as a bridge to enhance comprehensive exchange and cooperation between Nanshan District and Germany, as well as Europe, in areas such as economy, culture, education, trade, and technology.

Looking ahead to 2025, the Eintracht Frankfurt (Shenzhen Nanshan) International Exchange Center, jointly developed by both parties, is set to be completed, opening up even broader opportunities for international collaboration.
