As a landmark of China's reform and opening-up, the White Swan Hotel partnered with the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and three local schools—Chaotian, Wende Road, and Tiyudong Primary Schools—to launch an immersive TCM cultural experience under the theme "Rooted in Tradition, Nourishing the Future" in Guangzhou on June 1, 2025, International Children's Day.
This innovative "hospital-hotel-school-family" collaboration offered over 100 families a vibrant cultural journey that combined ancient wisdom with modern living. Students performed traditional health routines and poetry recitations, while Dr. Zhang Zhongde from the hospital led a flag presentation ceremony to inspire cultural pride among the youth.
Ten interactive stations encouraged enthusiastic parent-child participation. Highlights included a TCM wellness zongzi workshop and a bamboo wind chime craft, blending festival traditions with intangible heritage. Health-themed activities like posture screenings and eye-care demonstrations brought preventive medicine to life for children.
The White Swan Hotel and the Guangdong Provincial Hospital also signed a partnership to co-develop TCM-inspired wellness tourism products, advancing the integration of culture, health, and hospitality.
"As a cultural platform, we aim to bring traditional wisdom into everyday life," said Huang Fang, Party Secretary and Executive Director of the White Swan Hotel.
