Guangdong Province is gearing up for its annual High-Quality Development Conference, set to take place in Guangzhou on February 5, the first working day after the Chinese New Year holiday.

This marks the third consecutive year that Guangdong has convened this significant conference to rally efforts across the province towards high-quality development.
This year's conference themed "Building a Modern Industrial System" will underscore Guangdong's commitment to leveraging its robust industrial base and technological prowess to drive modernization and chart a course for sustainable and innovative growth.
The conference will feature a plenary session in the morning, which will be live-streamed. In the afternoon, participants will engage in group discussions on several key topics, such as the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, the cultivation of strategic emerging industries and future industries, the implementation of the "High-Quality Development Project for Guangdong's Counties, Towns, and Villages", the development of financial and modern service industries, and the promotion of foreign trade, foreign investment, foreign outsourcing, outbound economic cooperation, and overseas talent attraction.
Entrusted with the mission of leading the nation in constructing a modern industrial system with greater international competitiveness, Guangdong has made significant strides in this regard, with its GDP reaching 14 trillion yuan in 2024, maintaining its top position in the country for 36 consecutive years. The province also boasts eight trillion yuan industrial clusters and has consistently ranked first in regional innovation capacity for eight years.
As the final year of the 14th Five-Year Plan, 2025 holds great significance for Guangdong. The province is poised to shoulder its responsibility as a major economic hub, focusing on integrating industry and technology, and accelerating the development of new-quality productive forces.
