Guangzhou's Nansha unveils youth talent plan in Macao, offering jobs and incentives

On April 28, the "Young Talents Wanted in Young Nansha" talent exchange event was held at the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST).

The event showcased the first comprehensive youth talent development policy in China and introduced more than 1,000 job opportunities for youth in Macao SAR, attracting over 200 students and faculty members from Macao institutions.

"Young Talents Wanted in Young Nansha" is an action plan for the gathering of talent in Nansha District, Guangzhou. The plan includes "talent dream launch, exploration, craft, pursuit, and realization action," which is designed to empower young talent through education, internships, employment, entrepreneurship, etc. It is committed to building Nansha as a stage for young talent to bravely pursue their dreams.

For instance, according to the "talent dream exploration action," interns participating in the "Zhanchi Plan" will receive free accommodation and a monthly internship subsidy of 1,000 yuan per person. The "talent dream realization action" shows that newly settled undergraduates, master's, and doctoral graduates will receive monthly living allowances of 1,000, 2,000, and 4,000 yuan respectively for 30 consecutive months in Nansha.

At the event, many participants praised Nansha's policies. "Free housing and stipends make interning in Nansha feasible and attractive," said Li Jiaxin, a MUST finance master's student who has applied for three internship positions. "I believe I can find an opportunity to grow in Nansha."

"The prospect is excellent, the salary is excellent, and the policy benefits are excellent," said Li Yuyao, a fresh graduate from MUST. She noted that the salary in Nansha even exceeded her expectations.

"'Young Talents Wanted in Young Nansha' has the potential to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between Nansha and Macao in fields such as tourism, marine economy, high-tech, education, and culture," said José Luís de Sales Marques, a renowned economist and expert in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area research, and Chairman of the Macao European Research Association. He emphasized that Nansha's comprehensive youth talent development policy is highly competitive, offering abundant opportunities for Macao youth to seize.
