Guangdong weather forecast

As of now, the province has issued 23 thunderstorm and high wind warning signals and 20 rainstorm alerts, with red rainstorm warning signals active in Yangjiang City and Taishan, a county-level city in Jiangmen City.

The combination of rainfall and a cold air front has caused temperatures to drop across much of Guangdong since April 24. Eastern cities in eastern Guangdong saw a temperature decrease of 3°C to 6°C compared to April 23. In areas like Yunfu, Qingyuan, Shaoguan, northern Heyuan, and the northern Pearl River Delta, temperatures dropped by 1°C to 3°C due to heavy rainfall.

According to the Guangdong Meteorological Observatory, the weather will be mostly cloudy across the province from April 26 to 27, with scattered (thunder) showers and localized heavy rainfall in some areas.

Weather safety tips

1. Prepare for thunderstorms.

Frequent thunderstorm activity is expected to continue. In northern Guangdong, be alert for heavy rainfall and secondary hazards such as landslides, flash floods, and waterlogging in farmlands. In the Pearl River Delta, be cautious of urban flooding due to intense short-term rainfall.

2. Watch for severe convective weather.

Stay alert for thunderstorm winds, hail, and lightning, which may pose safety risks in localized areas.

3. Practice fire safety.

Some forest fire risk warnings remain active. Be mindful of fire safety when outdoors.
