Dongguan museums offer free exhibitions during Spring Festival holiday

Special Exhibition of Qing Dynasty Palace Relics from Shenyang Imperial Palace (清风万里 瑰宝鎏光——沈阳故宫藏清宫文物精品展)

The exhibition showcases the journey of the Manchu ancestors from fragmentation to unification and their transition from slavery to feudalism. It introduces the "Eight Banners System," a unique Qing Dynasty organizational structure combining military and civilian roles. The display also recreates the daily lives of Qing emperors and consorts, including their dining and clothing, while reflecting on the colorful artistic and cultural life within the imperial court.

Featuring 65 sets of 260 exquisite artifacts replicated from the Lord Yi royal family collection at Fuzhou Museum, the exhibition introduces the Ming dynasty's feudal system, the Lord Yi royal lineage, and artifacts unearthed from the family's tomb. These include ceramics, painted pottery figurines, clothing, gold and silverware, and jade, offering insights into the Ming aristocracy's beliefs, customs, and lifestyle.

China in New Year Prints (年画里的中国)

Curated by the Guangdong Mobile Museum, this exhibition showcases over 100 New Year prints, divided into themes such as deities, figures, landscapes, and stories. With detailed explanations, antique-style prints, and woodcut tools on display, the exhibition highlights the charm of Chinese New Year print culture. Visitors can also enjoy themed interactive spots, such as "New Year Banquet at the Museum" and "Welcoming the God of Wealth."

Spacetime and Landscapes

Co-organised by Shenzhen Wangye Museum, and Zetterquist Gallery (New York), this exhibition features 25 sets of cultural relics, 26 historical portraits, and 30 paintings by American artist Eric Zetterquist and renowned Chinese painter Ma Jun. Blending ancient relics, paintings, and photography, it showcases the harmony of Chinese and American artistic exchanges.

Wu Yanwen's 2024 Paris Olympic Art Tour Exhibition (“大师凯旋”2024巴黎奥运艺术伍延文个人巡展中国东莞站)

Displaying nearly 100 artworks by Wu Yanwen, including 49 ceramic pieces showcased for the first time, this exhibition integrates innovation and modernity. Highlights include 20 newly created ceramic paintings, inviting audiences into a vibrant artistic world.
