Representatives from AI short comic drama companies and other industry stakeholders gathered in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin on June 15 to exchange views on the future of digital content creation, including industry trends, technology applications, business development, and resource matching, and explore viable paths for AI content development.
An exchange event focusing on AI-powered comic dramas was held at the Service Centre for Economy and Trade between China and Portuguese/Spanish-speaking Countries. The event brought together government officials and industry representatives to discuss the development of AIGC content and viable paths for industry growth .
AI short comic dramas are an emerging digital content format that combines AI, comic-style visuals, and narrative storytelling. Powered by AIGC technology, the format can improve production efficiency and shows considerable potential in content creation and overseas distribution.
The event was co-hosted by the Hengqin Guidance Fund, the Service Centre, and Volcano Engine, ByteDance's cloud service platform. Volcano Engine provides enterprise services spanning cloud computing, big data, AI, and content production and distribution.
The cooperation zone will continue to improve its industrial ecosystem, with a focus on content creation, technology enablement, computing support, and global distribution. It aims to help companies establish operations in Hengqin, expand into new markets, and tap into global resources.
The cooperation zone has also recently introduced a package of support measures for the short-drama sector to foster the sustainable growth of businesses in the industry.
