Hengqin Port has recorded over 110 million passenger trips since opening on August 18, 2020, with an average annual growth rate of 37.5 percent, according to statistics from the Hengqin Immigration Inspection Station.
During the same period, Hengqin Customs processed over 13.25 million vehicle trips, with an average annual growth rate of approximately 34.9 percent.

In the first eight months of 2026 alone, Hengqin Customs handled about 2.827 million vehicle trips, up more than 39 percent year on year. Macao-registered single-plate vehicles accounted for approximately 1.873 million trips, or more than 66 percent of the total.
The Hengqin Immigration Inspection Station also reported that the port's smart clearance lanes have served over 82 million passengers over the six-year period, accounting for more than 70 percent of total passenger traffic.
The port has also processed over 374,000 outbound travelers holding the special Hengqin-Macao tourist endorsement and more than 985,000 outbound travelers with the multiple-entry endorsement.
Data show that the port recorded 1.79 million crossings by Macao residents in its first year of operation. Over the latest 12-month period, the figure surged to 9.23 million, an increase of more than fourfold.
A spokesperson for the Hengqin Immigration Inspection Station said work is accelerating on initiatives such as the expansion and renovation of passenger inspection channels and the roll-out of iris recognition technology. The station will continue to advance smart port development, improve clearance efficiency and enhance the travel experience for passengers.
