An artificial intelligence company in Dongguan's Binhaiwan Bay Area is using AI agents to reshape how printed circuit boards (PCBs) are designed. Sagenic Tech (Dongguan) set up operations at the National AI Application Pilot Base in March 2026.
Its core team comprises scientists and holders of master's and doctoral degrees from top universities worldwide, including Tsinghua University, Sun Yat-sen University, Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Tokyo and the University of California, San Diego. It also includes senior executives from leading companies such as Huawei, and entrepreneurs from the manufacturing sector.
After the company moved in, the pilot base supplied computing power and demand-matching services, and gave it access to real industrial settings for product verification.
Repeated testing on production lines cut trial-and-error costs and shortened technology commercialization cycles. It also helped the Sagenic Tech team carry out market research and analysis more efficiently.
The company's flagship product is CircuitSage, which the firm describes as the world's first AI agent capable of fully automated design of PCBs of eight layers or more. According to the company's product roadmap, the tool can cut design cycles by 80 percent.
The AI agent can complete in about three minutes layout work that would take engineers several days by hand.
