On February 15, the Plan of the Xianhu International Science and Innovation Community was officially launched at the Xianhu Laboratory in Danzao Town, Nanhai District, Foshan City. The initiative aims to transform the area into a sought-after hub for both domestic and international tech talent within the next three years. By fostering a space for innovation and the transformation of scientific research results in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the community is poised to become the core of the region's sci-tech ecosystem.
The Xianhu International Science and Innovation Community is located in Danzao Town, Nanhai District, Foshan City.
Located in Danzao Town, the Xianhu International Science and Innovation Community spans 1.2 square kilometers of Xianhu Lake and includes a 9-square-kilometer core area and an expansion zone of 40 square kilometers.
The core area has already introduced the Xianhu Laboratory, which is the third batch of provincial laboratories in Guangdong Province. The laboratory has formed a scientific research team of nearly 150 people, including academicians and national-level talents. It focuses on the research of hydrogen energy and hydrogen-ammonia fusion technology and strives to become an important part of the international science and technology innovation center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Based on these advantages, the Xianhu International Science and Innovation Community will focus on constructing the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Scientists' Entrepreneurship Park. The park is planned to have an area of 110,000 square meters. It will introduce professional technology service and operation teams to create an integrated service system.
The community will also build a 12,000-square-meter Xianhu Makers' Headquarters, which will provide early-stage entrepreneurial enterprises with policy guidance, financing and investment docking services, and a rent-for-equity model to help startups reduce financial pressure. Relying on the expansion area, the community can also provide sufficient industrial land for the industrialization of science and innovation projects.
The Xianhu International Science and Innovation Community has already introduced the Xianhu Laboratory.
Danzao will establish a 500 million yuan Xianhu Science and Innovation Fund for financial support. It will innovate the financial service mechanism for the entire life cycle of science and innovation projects, and link up with municipal and district-level industry investment funds, Guangdong Science and Technology Finance, and social funds.
In response to the high requirements of global scientific and technological talents for living environments and supporting facilities, the Xianhu International Science and Innovation Community, based on the existing supporting facilities such as the 12-year Nanhai Experimental School, the Qingshe Hotel, and high-end dining, will provide more than 2,000 talent apartments. It will also build a B.Duck Theme Park, create a Xianhu water sports base, develop a lakeside commercial street, introduce high-end hotels and guesthouses, build a Hydrogen Valley Cultural Service Center, and improve the transportation infrastructure to continuously enhance its capacity to support scientific and technological talents.
In Danzhao Town, Nanhai District, Foshan City, the 1.2-square-kilometer Xianhu is picturesque.
