Hengqin Lotus Festival offers new online and offline experiences

The fourth Hengqin Lotus Festival will take place at the Lotus Garden in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin from June 26 to July 10. The 15-day festival will combine online and offline activities, letting offline visitors and online participants immerse themselves fully in traditional lotus culture.

Covering about 45,000 square meters, the Lotus Garden features 90 lotus varieties and 30 rare water lily varieties.

Online and offline activities

Visitors can take part in online games through the WeChat mini program "Qinchengyi (琴城易)". By completing the lotus-themed challenges, participants can accumulate points to exchange for special gifts. The games are available only to registered participants who must enter the mobile phone number linked to the mini program, and points will be credited to relevant participants' accounts the next day after the challenges are completed.

Spots are limited for offline theme learning activities, including parent-child ecological discovery tours and DIY ecological landscape workshops.

Professional guides will offer free science education tours, helping visitors learn more about lotus flowers, wetlands, and surrounding natural environment.

To register, participants can open the WeChat mini program "Qinchengyi (琴城易)", enter the Lotus Festival section, choose a session, and fill up their information.

Bazaar guide: Food, fun, and shopping

Offline visitors can collect stamps using a "Lotus Pass" and redeem them for gifts. The stamps can also be converted into mini program points, which can be used to enter prize draws for lotus-themed handicrafts and limited edition cultural products.

During the festival, the bazaar will open daily from 10:00 to 20:00, featuring local food, desserts, ice cream, drinks, flowers, and cute pets.

Sixteen science education booths will open to the public, covering themed displays including the Macao Lotus Flower Festival, sponge cities, waste sorting, traditional Chinese medicine, consumer protection, and birdwatching.

Macao joins the celebration

The Macao Lotus Flower Festival will be held at the Taipa Houses in Macao from June 12 to July 17, forming a twin festival alongside the Hengqin Lotus Festival. Interactive booths will be set up at the Macao venue on June 20, 21, 27, and 28, featuring activities such as Hanfu experiences.
