The Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin unveiled an integrated service package on September 3 to support Chinese companies expanding into Brazil and other Latin American markets.

The initiative was jointly launched by the Service Center for Economy and Trade between China and Portuguese/Spanish-speaking Countries, ICBC's Guangdong, Macao and Brazil operations and the Guangdong Branch of the China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation (SINOSURE).

The package will provide onshore, cross-border and offshore financial services for companies' domestic headquarters, international expansion centers and overseas operating platforms.

The launch comes as China-Brazil financial cooperation gathers pace. At the fourth meeting of the China-Brazil Financial Strategic Cooperation Working Group in June 2026, the two sides explored closer cooperation between their local-currency payment systems to provide efficient and secure payment and clearing services for bilateral trade, according to the People's Bank of China.

Also in June, the Banco Central do Brasil (BCB) announced that "BCB Resolution No. 575 expands access to foreign currency deposit accounts, allowing additional categories of companies and nonresident entities to use them in transactions related to foreign trade, external financing and foreign investment." The regulation will enter into force on October 1, 2026.

During the event, the service center signed strategic cooperation agreements with ICBC do Brasil Banco Múltiplo S.A. and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Macau) Limited. The parties will establish a regular coordination mechanism, under which Hengqin will serve as a service hub, Macao as a financial platform and Brazil as an operating base for Portuguese-speaking countries and Latin America.

Banking specialists also briefed participating companies on Brazil's new foreign-exchange rules and financial environment. Discussions focused on foreign-exchange administration, currency hedging, cross-border cash management, financing and corporate structuring.

The organizers plan to integrate business advisory services, cross-border finance and export credit insurance to provide end-to-end support for companies entering Portuguese-speaking countries and Latin American markets.
