Guangdong freezes over! Another cold front to bring temperatures down by 3 to 5°C

Guangdong began experiencing low temperatures from the current cold front on January 12. Frost occurred in the northern mountainous regions of Guangzhou. Early-rising local residents captured rare sights such as frozen vegetables and water buckets. In Lutian Town, Conghua District of Guangzhou, cars parked along the roadside were covered in frost.

On January 13, a widespread low temperature below 5°C occurred in the central and northern regions of Guangzhou. Temperatures in high-altitude mountainous areas ranged from -4°C to 0°C, accompanied by frost and freeze. Make sure to dress warmly when you get up!

Additionally, according to @GuangdongWeather, Guangdong is expected to remain relatively dry from January 13 to 15, with a large temperature difference between day and night, and cold mornings and evenings. Another wave of weak cold air will affect Guangdong from the night of January 14 to January 16, causing daily average temperatures to drop by 3 to 5°C across the province. The lowest temperatures during this period are expected to occur around the morning of January 17.

Guangdong weather forecast for the coming days:

On January 14 (from the daytime of January 14 to the morning of January 15), western Guangdong, the western Pearl River Delta, Shaoguan, and Qingyuan will experience cloudy skies with scattered light rain and (light) fog, while other regions will be mostly cloudy with locally light rain. The minimum temperatures on the morning of January 14 will rise significantly, with northern and eastern Guangdong seeing temperatures between 6 and 9°C, western Guangdong and the western Pearl River Delta regions between 12 and 16°C, and other regions between 9 and 12°C.

On January 15, western Guangdong, the western Pearl River Delta, Shaoguan, and Qingyuan will see scattered light rain turning sunny, while other regions will be mostly sunny. Minimum temperatures: northern Guangdong's northern regions will have temperatures between 8 and 11°C, southern regions between 14 and 16°C, and other regions between 11 and 14°C.

From January 13 to 15, Guangdong will remain relatively dry, with a high risk of forest fire hazards. Everyone should pay attention to forest fire prevention, home fire, and electrical safety. With substantial diurnal temperature variations and cold mornings and evenings, people must take precautions against the cold and use heating equipment safely.
