The LED mesh screens on the east side of Guangzhou's Jiefang Bridge (广州解放大桥) have recently been put into operation, adding a new visual attraction to the city's riverside skyline.
As night falls, colorful light displays sweep across the bridge's three arches, featuring Lingnan cultural elements such as kapok flowers, Canton embroidery and traditional Cantonese fans.
Covering about 1,140 square meters in total, the LED mesh screens feature high-density digitally controlled point light sources for smooth, high-definition 3D animation displays. Designed to follow the curves of the bridge arches, they integrate with the bridge structure and its existing lighting system.
The screens showcase a variety of themed visuals, from cultural short films to messages such as "Jiefang Bridge," "Welcome to Guangzhou" and "I Love Guangzhou." Scenes featuring local life, including Lingnan-style breakfasts and traditional qilou (arcaded buildings), also highlight the city's distinctive character.
The displays currently run daily from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., inviting the public to experience a new light show along the Pearl River.
