Guangdong concludes 14th Five-Year Plan with regional GDP hitting 14.58 tln yuan

2026 marks the start of China's 15th Five-Year Plan, as Guangdong wraps up the 14th Five-Year Plan period with remarkable achievements. The province's regional GDP hit 14.58 trillion yuan, with per capita regional GDP reaching 110,000 yuan.

The five-year plans serve as a comprehensive blueprint for China's economic and social advancement, outlining goals, strategies, and priorities for each planning cycle. Each province formulates its five-year plan accordingly.

The fifth session of the 14th Guangdong Provincial People's Congress kicked off in Guangzhou on January 26. Guangdong Governor Meng Fanli delivered the Provincial Government Work Report at the opening ceremony, mentioning the key achievements Guangdong has accomplished over the past five years.
