April 23 marked 200 days until the opening of the 15th National Games—an important milestone in the countdown to China's premier sporting event.
As one of the host cities, Huizhou is fully committed to venue upgrades, event preparations, and city-wide campaigns to build excitement and showcase a dynamic new image.
On the same day, this vibrant city, nestled between mountains and sea, officially launched its ambitious initiative to become South China's outdoor sports capital by leveraging its world-class natural resources and strategic location in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

In recent years, Huizhou has actively developed outdoor recreation areas throughout its mountains, rivers, lakes, and coastlines. Trendy sports such as rock climbing, trail running, skateboarding, rollerblading, and sailing have gained popularity, attracting enthusiasts from near and far. Concurrently, a wave of outdoor events—including marathons, hikes, cycling tours, trail runs, and orienteering challenges—has brought the city to life, illustrating a vibrant picture of "joy in sports amid nature's beauty."
Boluo County and Longmen County, located within the high-quality development zone of Nankun Mountain and Luofu Mountain, are emerging as prime destinations for the outdoor sports industry. A 218-kilometer scenic tourist highway is currently under construction, featuring 16 uniquely themed service stations planned along the route. These hubs will connect the rich cultural and tourism resources of both mountains, creating a world-class foundation for outdoor adventures such as cycling, trail running, and forest exploration.

In Henghe Town, Boluo County, plans for a cutting-edge sports-themed town have already been initiated. Spanning approximately 3,600 acres, the development will include a dedicated sports service zone, scenic lakeside greenways, an outdoor adventure park for teens, hiking trails, a whimsical themed village, and futuristic residential communities. Once completed, the town will serve as a hub for outdoor sports and events, regularly hosting both recreational and professional activities. This ambitious project aims to accelerate the "sports+" integration model, driving high-quality growth in Huizhou's outdoor sports industry.
From stunning landscapes to dynamic sporting events, and from community engagement to industry partnerships, Huizhou's vision of becoming South China's outdoor sports capital is steadily taking shape. As residents and visitors stroll along rivers and lakes, explore forest trails, and ride through mountain paths, the blueprint for Huizhou's outdoor sports future is becoming increasingly distinct.
