The 2nd seminar for civil servants from Macao and Hengqin was held in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin on September 18.
Thirty civil servants from Macao's economic and financial affairs sector explored new pathways for coordinated industrial development between Macao and Hengqin through field visits, thematic lectures, group discussions and roundtable exchanges.
In the morning, participants visited the Guangdong Institute of Intelligence Science and Technology and the Cross-Border E-commerce (Huafa) Innovation Park, gaining insights into the zone's industrial ecosystem and innovation in technological R&D and cross-border trade. They then attended a keynote lecture that analyzed the practical foundations, implementation paths, opportunities and challenges of Macao-Hengqin coordinated economic development.
In the afternoon, the participants visited the Hengqin Planning Exhibition Hall to learn about the zone's development in key areas such as industry and people's livelihood, as well as the blueprint for Macao-Hengqin integrated development.
The seminar aims to establish regular channels for exchange, further build consensus on development and enhance civil servants' cross-regional governance capacity. Four seminars are planned for this year, with the remaining two to focus on different themes.
