The Ecological Empowerment Conference of the 4th Pazhou Algorithm Competition was held in Pazhou Sub-district, Haizhu District, Guangzhou, on September 23.
The competition brought together 8,131 teams from over 30 countries and regions, setting a new record for the scale of algorithm competitions in China. A total of 183 teams advanced to the finals, with 82 teams winning awards.
The competition focused on real industrial needs and adopted a market-oriented approach to organizing the event. It has become a "new window" for gathering global wisdom and a "new platform" for the emergence of tech companies.
Outside the venue, a specially created 30-meter-long "Industrial Star-Studded Avenue" showcased innovative achievements in large models from the Competition and Pazhou. Sub-forums on topics such as Embodied Intelligence, Brain-Computer Interface, Data Industry, and Frontier Large Model Technology were held throughout the day. The roadshow session attracted participation from 70 investment institutions, building an efficient platform for connecting innovative achievements with capital.
The competition emphasized the field of algorithms, showcasing the technical depth and industry influence of the event through cutting-edge contest topics and high-value achievement transformation. For example, the AI Innovative Application Track promoted parallel advancement in both software application and intelligent hardware competitions, yielding several innovative results.
The Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence launched the OpenSeek open-source initiative, aiming to challenge the next-generation large language model to surpass DeepSeek by leveraging the competition's techno-crowdsourcing model. This became the "star contest topic" of this year's competition.
In recent years, Haizhu District has used the Pazhou Algorithm Competition as a breakthrough point, firmly consolidating the three foundational pillars of "algorithms, computing power, and data," strengthening the "trunk" of large model technology, and reaping the benefits of a functional AI industry. Over 170 large model industry projects have been implemented, and 27 large model projects have been introduced and cultivated for regulatory filing – ranking first in the province.
