Guangzhou, the capital city of Guangdong Province, officially launched a global outreach campaign for its professional wholesale markets on June 9, marking the beginning of regular, large-scale overseas promotional initiatives for premium products from the city's wholesale market in the months ahead.

By taking Guangzhou's professional wholesale markets overseas, the campaign will give international merchants and consumers direct access to a wide range of high-quality Guangzhou products in their home markets.

At the launch ceremony on June 9, a selection of popular export products from Guangzhou's professional wholesale markets was showcased and made available for visitors to try. The products included beauty and skincare items, leather goods, apparel, stationery, and sporting goods.

A symbolic handover of shipping boxes was also held to mark the initiative's official launch. Following the ceremony, the boxes will be transported from Guangzhou to major commercial districts in member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), including Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Through on-site unboxing sessions led by local online influencers and interactive street promotions, overseas consumers will gain easier access to authentic, high-quality Guangzhou-made products, broadening their choices of competitively priced, on-trend goods.

The event marks the beginning of Guangzhou's full-scale international promotion of its professional wholesale markets over the coming months.

On June 16, Guangzhou will launch a special campaign to promote premium local products across ASEAN markets. Throughout 2026, more than 40 business matchmaking events will be held in Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and other ASEAN countries. These events will create reliable trade channels and convenient opportunities for collaboration with overseas buyers.

In September 2026, Guangzhou's professional wholesale markets will also make a collective appearance at Paris Fashion Week and Milan Fashion Week. The city will showcase its competitive apparel, beauty, and leather products that combine contemporary international aesthetics with distinctive Chinese elements, offering global buyers fresh product choices and sourcing inspiration.

Guangzhou's professional wholesale markets have become an increasingly important sourcing destination for global buyers. The city is home to 508 such markets operating year-round, offering efficient, one-stop services spanning sample viewing, on-the-spot product selection, business negotiations, one-click ordering, and fast delivery. The overseas campaign will provide international merchants with stable and diversified sourcing channels closer to their home markets.
