Currently, lychees have become a branded product of Guangdong's agriculture, with a planting area of over 0.65 million acres, accounting for half of the national total. The region has rich varieties and exports to more than 20 countries and regions.

As the "Hometown of Chinese Lychees," Maoming is the world's largest lychee production base, with a lychee planting history of over 2000 years. In recent years, Maoming has made efforts in various areas such as lychee planting, fresh-keeping, sales, processing, logistics, and branding, promoting the upgrading of the lychee industry chain in an all-around way. The output value of the entire lychee industry chain has exceeded 12 billion yuan.

Maoming lychees are highly popular in the market due to their profound cultural history and unique taste.

During the event, many lychee enterprises in Maoming signed agreements with Beijing supermarkets, wholesale markets, e-commerce platforms, and more. An official of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs stated that they will rely on international platforms like Beijing to promote lychees, aiming to better "go global" and establish Guangdong lychees as an international brand under the "dual circulation" model.
