On May 21 (local time), the China-Greece Media Think Tank Dialogue Roundtable was held in Athens, Greece. More than 30 representatives from leading media outlets and think tanks of the two countries gathered for an in-depth dialogue under the theme "Drawing on Millennia of Civilizational Heritage, Bearing Media's Responsibilities in the New Era – Promoting Mutual Learning and Shared Prosperity between Chinese and Greek Civilizations."

The event was co-hosted by the International Department of the All-China Journalists Association (ACJA) and the Chinese School of Classical Studies at Athens.
Wu Xu, Executive Secretary of the Secretariat of the ACJA, noted that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the China-Greece comprehensive strategic partnership, and that next year will mark the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. As recorders of the times and transmitters of culture, media professionals should play a greater role in promoting mutual learning between civilizations and cultural exchanges. She called on media and think tanks to use dialogue between civilizations as a bond to jointly explore the profound heritage of Chinese and Greek civilizations, and translate ancient civilizations into stories accessible and acceptable to contemporary audiences; to uphold truthfulness as the bottom line to jointly maintain a safe and sound information dissemination system; and to build bridges through exchanges to jointly cultivate future-oriented journalism talents, so that dialogue between civilizations can be passed on from generation to generation.

During the roundtable discussion, participants held in-depth exchanges on the theme. They agreed that, both China and Greece are countries with ancient civilizations, media and think tanks of China and Greece should not only record the achievements of bilateral cooperation, but also take the initiative to become participants, promoters and builders of mutual learning between civilizations. Taking this dialogue as a new starting point, all parties will further strengthen communication and coordination, enhance mutual understanding between the two peoples through truthful, rational, in-depth and warm reports, and contribute media strength to the exchange and mutual learning of Chinese and Greek civilizations and the development of bilateral friendship.
