The 10th Plenary Session of the 14th Nanhai District Committee of Foshan, Guangdong, was held on December 31, 2025. In his work report, Party chief Wang Yong stated that Nanhai should strengthen its role as a citywide pivot—serving as Foshan's engine for growth transformation, an operational hub for resource allocation, and a bridge linking regional, domestic, and external development.
Over the next five years, Nanhai will pursue the goal of "building a new Foshan, with Nanhai as a new hub," by enhancing its role across six key areas: regional integration, innovation and transformation, cultural empowerment, urban support, collaborative governance, and strategic connectivity.
Wang Yong emphasized that Nanhai must move beyond geographic limitations and adopt a broader vision and more pragmatic approach, accelerating its transformation from a geographic center into a functional hub and positioning itself as Foshan's resource convergence point, core engine for upgrading, and driver of future development.
