Two schools in the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin have been selected for China's 2024 National Youth Campus Football Programme, according to a list published by the Zhuhai Education Bureau on March 21. The newly recognized institutions are Capital Normal University Ziqi Experimental Primary School and Hengqin First Middle School.
This recognition follows the 2023 designation of Capital Normal University Ziqi Experimental Middle School as a national youth football school, further strengthening Hengqin’s role in promoting campus football. These schools are part of a nationwide initiative to integrate football into the school curriculum and develop young talent.
Established in 2021, Capital Normal University Ziqi Experimental Primary School is a public institution affiliated with Capital Normal University. It offers specialized programs in science, sports, and the arts under its guiding philosophy of "teaching for understanding, learning for the future."
Hengqin First Middle School, founded in 2015 and currently managed by Huafa Education, was Hengqin's first public middle school. The school emphasizes both traditional cultural education and scientific innovation.
The inclusion of these schools in the national football program highlights Hengqin's commitment to youth sports development and broader educational excellence.
