Following the recent debut of student photographer Luo Wenrui, whose viral Guangzhou street photos were wrongly claimed as "Seoul" by a South Korean social media user, IP Guangdong now welcomes another grassroots creator.
Luo Shiyue, the beloved cleaner who went viral with his stunning street art on Guangzhou's power boxes, has officially joined the platform.
For 12 years, Luo Shiyue has worked as a cleaner in Guangzhou. Beyond his daily duties, he finds joy in painting. With no formal professional training, he is a self-taught artist who paints purely out of passion.

Initially honing his craft on repurposed picture frames, Luo later joined a community beautification project encouraged by his coworkers. He has since transitioned to painting on public surfaces, transforming Guangzhou's street walls and utility boxes into canvases for his intricate designs.

In just two months, Luo has painted over 20 utility boxes with motifs ranging from kapok flowers to giant pandas. His work has not only beautified the streets but also won huge praise from the local community.

When photos of Luo painting on the streets went viral online, they instantly captured public attention, sparking curiosity about his identity. In reality, far from being a trained professional or a performance artist, Luo is simply a local cleaner whose artistic talent shines in his free time.

Luo expressed great anticipation for joining IP Guangdong. He said that he remains committed to painting in his spare time and will continue sharing his work on the platform. "Through this global co-creation platform, I hope to show the world the everyday beauty hidden in Guangzhou's streets and alleys," Luo said.
