Zhanjiang is a sub-central city of Guangdong, and the central city of western Guangdong and Beibu Gulf urban cluster. It is one of the first coastal cities in China to open up and also one of the initial maritime cooperation hubs under the Belt and Road Initiative. Currently, Zhanjiang is expediting its development into a key growth pole along the modern coastal economic belt.
