Foshan is the 17th city in China and the 3rd in Guangdong Province to achieve an economic output exceeding RMB1 trillion, with a total industrial output of enterprises above designated size surpassing RMB 3 trillion, ranking 4th nationwide.
Upgrading Traditional Industries
The city will advance the transformation of production modes by vigorously developing
production-oriented services such as modern finance, modern logistics, and industrial design. This will facilitate the upward movement of traditional advantageous industries—such as ceramics building materials, textiles and clothing, home appliances and furniture—along the value chain.
Accelerating the Growth of New Industries
The city is targeting strategic emerging industries, including new power system equipment, industrial robots, NEVs, new energy, new materials, new displays, medical and health care, and low-altitude economy, aiming to drive an overall leap in both the industrial structure and level. It will focus on cluster development by accelerating the construction of the Fobei Zhanxin Industry Park and the "Double Ten Parks" (Ten Innovation-leading Specialized Manufacturing Parks and Ten Modern Service Industry Clusters), nurturing and expanding leading enterprises within the industrial chain. Through enterprise-led chains and chain-driven cluster development, the city aims to enhance industrial synergy.
Fostering Future Industries
The city will rationally plan future industries such as green hydrogen, generative AI, cell and gene therapy, open up application scenarios to accelerate industrialization, and actively seize the first-mover advantage of future industry development.
