Dongguan is situated at the geometric center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, bordered by Shenzhen and Hong Kong to the front and backed by Guangzhou. It stands as the only city in China encircled by three first-tier cities. Covering a land area of 2,460 square kilometers, Dongguan hosts 220,000 industrial enterprises, including 14,000 above-scale enterprises, spanning 34 industrial categories and producing over 60,000 types of products. Its well-structured enterprise ecosystem, known as the "Star and Moon Shining Together" model, along with a complete industrial chain, enables companies to source the vast majority of required components within two hours.
It will continue to expand the scale of strategic emerging industries such as next-generation electronic information, high-end equipment, semiconductors and ICs, new materials, new energy, biomedicine, and high-end medical devices. Additionally, it will prioritize fostering frontier industries like AI and low-altitude economy, and make forward-looking plans for future-oriented industries including next-generation mobile communication (6G), frontier new materials, embodied intelligence, and future life and health.
