China Southern Airlines and Vietnam Airlines will launch a joint venture on August 1, 2025, marking the first partnership of its kind between carriers from China and Vietnam. Approved by both governments, the agreement aims to streamline air travel and expand route networks between the two countries.

Key features include coordinated flight schedules, code-sharing, and interline check-in, allowing passengers to receive boarding passes for up to three connecting flights at their departure point.

The partnership strengthens existing ties between the two airlines, which began code-sharing in 2010 and signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement in 2022.

China Southern currently operates 111 weekly flights between Chinese cities—including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Shanghai—and Vietnamese destinations such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Nha Trang. Vietnam Airlines offers over 50 weekly flights connecting Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Nha Trang with cities across China.
