In Dongguan, visiting flower markets and buying festive blooms are cherished New Year traditions. These bustling markets offer vibrant blooms and festive decorations, symbolizing prosperity and good fortune for the year ahead. This year, Dongguan's flower markets are bursting with energy, bringing together locals and visitors for an unforgettable celebration.  

Dongguan Flower Market

Located near Dongguan Central Park, the Dongguan Spring Festival Flower Market is the heart of the city's celebrations. Running from January 20 to 28, it offers a one-stop hub for festive shopping. Stalls brim with orchids, peach blossoms and vibrant flowers, citrus trees, traditional ornaments, and local delicacies.  
This year, convenience meets festivity with an on-site courier service by SF Express, ensuring your purchases are delivered straight to your doorstep. Visitors can also enjoy spring-themed activities in Dongguan Central Park from January 18 to February 4, creating the perfect backdrop for Lunar New Year photos.

To make your journey easier, Dongguan Radio and TV Station has launched the 2025 Flower Map, featuring over 20 markets across the city. The interactive guide includes navigation tips, suggested routes, and recommendations for food, cultural highlights, and family-friendly activities. Whether a local resident or a visitor, the map ensures a seamless and joyful experience.

Guancheng's flower market leads the festivities, opening as early as January 14. Split between the Dongmen Square (main venue) and the Dongguan Sign (sub-venue), its flower market brings together tradition and contemporary style.

The main venue boasts over 200 stalls, offering everything from festive plants and creative crafts to delectable snacks. Meanwhile, the sub-venue exudes nostalgic charm, with its vibrant flower displays and cultural performances blending tradition with modernity.

Zhongtang

Zhongtang's flower market opened on January 17 at the Zhongtang Cultural Plaza near the town hall. It is a delightful mix of floral displays, festive foods, and family-friendly activities. Themed zones for kumquats, orchids, and interactive games invite visitors to shop, taste, and play.

The "stars" here are kumquat trees (symbolizing prosperity) and butterfly orchids (denoting elegance). Experts recommend choosing trees with bright, evenly-colored fruits and orchids with lush blooms and vibrant foliage.

Songshan Lake

At Songshan Lake, the ULAND Cultural and Art Street transforms into a Lunar New Year paradise. From January 17 to 23, visitors are greeted by rows of lanterns, creative snake-themed installations, and stalls offering flowers, traditional gifts, and delicious treats.

The Spring Lifestyle Festival at Mix Mall, running from January 17 to 28, adds even more excitement. Besides shopping for festive goods, visitors can enjoy cultural performances, including lion dances, face-changing acts, bands and even Tang Dynasty-style street performers.

Shilong

Shilong's flower market opened on January 18, turning the town into a sea of blossoms. Operating daily from 10:00 to 18:00 (extended to 19:00 on Lunar New Year's Eve), it offers locals a vibrant spot to select New Year blooms. The market's lively atmosphere, coupled with a stunning array of flowers, promises to brighten anyone's Lunar New Year preparations.
