First stop of 2025 China Mountain Cycling Open kicks off in Maoming's Xinyi

On March 22, the first stop of the 2025 China Mountain Cycling Open started at the shore of Yinyan Tianchi Lake in Qianpai Town, Xinyi City, Maoming. The competition attracted nearly 500 riders from 14 provinces and municipalities across the country.

At 9 a.m., the men's open group took the lead in charging forward, followed by the women's and men's fitness groups. The players sped along the 5.6-kilometer mountain forest track. With a vertical drop of 140 meters, the riders' excellent bike control skills drew cheers.

Subsequently, the short track, youth, and knockout cross-country races started on the 1.1-kilometer lakeside track, where riders engaged in speed duels, making overtakes on curves and accelerating for sprints. The atmosphere at the scene was extremely exciting.

The China Mountain Bike Open is an authoritative brand event under the Chinese Cycling Association. It is only held 6 to 8 times a year and is a highly anticipated key event for mountain bike athletes and enthusiasts across the country.

The track of this event is located at Yinyan Tianchi in Qianpai Town, Xinyi City, which is at the main peak of the Ma'an Mountain Range in the Yunkai Mountains. It connects the two major scenic areas of "China's Plum Township · Shanshui Shuanghe" (中国李乡·山水双合) and "Ma'an Bamboo Sea" (马安竹海).

Relying on the natural landscapes such as Yinyan Tianchi Lake, bamboo forests, and meadows, as well as the mountain terrain, a "breathing ecological track" has been created. This not only ensures the professionalism of the event but also enhances its ornamental value, allowing the participants to feel the natural beauty of Xinyi while competing.

"This track is very challenging, and the weather is also very comfortable. It really tests the participants' physical fitness, skills, and endurance," said Yao Hao, the rider who won first place in the men's open group cross-country race. He said that the challenges and excitement brought by the complex terrain enable him to fully enjoy the pleasure of competition.

After the race, the players indulged in the beautiful scenery of mountains and waters, quietly appreciating the reflections of clouds in Tianchi Lake and the sounds of the wind in the bamboo sea. They strolled along the walkways leisurely, deeply immersed in the beautiful landscapes of Xinyi.
