The 135th session of the Import and Export Fair, known as the Canton Fair, is right around the corner, starting from April 15. In recent days, Guangzhou has witnessed an upsurge of inbound and outbound passenger flow in various passenger ports, according to the Guangzhou General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection.

Since April, the Guangzhou General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection has handled more than 340,000 entry and exit trips. Compared with the same period last year, the number of inbound foreign personnel has increased significantly, with an increase of 183 percent. Among them, inbound foreign passengers for business and work purposes accounted for about 33 percent of the inbound foreign travelers, and the number of businessmen from Central Asia, Southeast Asia, and other Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) partner countries surged significantly.
To better serve the inbound foreign travelers, passenger ports in Guangzhou, such as the Baiyun International Airport and Pazhou Ferry Terminal, have set up special channels for Canton Fair participants, together with foreign language service teams to provide translation guidance in 13 languages, including English, French, Arabic, and Thai, for guests from various countries.

Nationals from 54 countries who meet the policy requirements and hold a connecting ticket to a third country (region) with a fixed date and seat within 144 hours can apply for visa-free transit in Guangdong. Baiyun International Airport has established an entry visa office and a site for temporary entry permit applications at the international arrival hall to provide one-stop services for foreign Canton Fair participants. Qualified personnel may enter Guangdong Province for a short-term stay after applying for a temporary entry permit.
To ensure the smooth entry and exit of the exhibited goods, the Guangzhou General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection has worked with port and shipping enterprises as well as airlines to provide around-the-clock channels for customs clearance services.
