Dongguan has officially entered the age of low-altitude economy. Recently, the city's first aircraft dealership, based on the innovative "6S"model, opened at the PRD Auto Exhibition Center in Machong Town. Operated by Guanglian Xianglong Intelligent Aviation Technology (Guangdong) Co., Ltd., the center showcased the Jabiru 230 aircraft, turning heads as the first of its kind in the region.
Modeled after car dealerships, the "6S"is a full-service aircraft dealership model that integrates sales, servicing, spare parts, school for pilots, special finance, and supporting operation, all under one roof.
This "six-in-one" approach is designed to provide a comprehensive and convenient experience for customers, making flying more accessible, which will help to create a replicable system for China's growing low-altitude economy.
The aircrafts sold at the 6S aircraft dealership are fixed-wing models based on Australian designs, manufactured in Yancheng, Jiangsu. They run on standard 95-octane gasoline, with a range of up to 1,200 km per tank. Flying costs as little as 238 RMB(approx. $33) per hour. Priced between 1.3 million RMB and 1.8 million RMB($180K–$250K), over 500 units have already been sold, mainly to flight academies and tourist destinations.
Before takeoff, flight plans are submitted digitally at least two hours in advance for approval. Once cleared, the pilot can launch and receive real-time flight data mid-air. Flights typically cruise at an altitude of 500-600 meters, making them ideal for short-range private, commercial, or training use.
In recent years, Dongguan has seized the momentum of China's low-altitude economy, actively expanding its "low-altitude+" application scenarios. As of 2024, the city hosts over 500 enterprises involved in the low-altitude industrial chain, ranking among the top in Guangdong Province.
With a total market scale exceeding 600 billion RMB, Dongguan has become a key hub, especially in high-end general aviation manufacturing. The city has attracted a growing number of upstream and downstream players in the aerospace supply chain, including aircraft interiors, precision components, and whole aircraft assembly.
