Bolivian Ambassador to China visits Zhuhai: May the flower of friendship between China and Bolivia bloom forever

From April 15th to 17th, the beautiful coastal city of Zhuhai welcomed Hugo Siles, the Ambassador of Bolivia to China. This was Siles's first trip to Guangdong Province since he took office as the Ambassador of Bolivia to China in December of last year, and he chose Zhuhai as his first stop. So where did the Ambassador go for a city walk in Zhuhai? What are his comments? What impressions did he have? Let's take a look!

After arriving in Zhuhai from Beijing on the evening of April 15th, Siles immediately began his busy schedule. He visited the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, the Xiangzhou District, Doumen District, and the Zhuhai Economic and Technological Development Zone, and met with entrepreneurs in the city. Additionally, Siles engaged in in-depth discussions on promoting cooperation between Bolivia and Zhuhai in agriculture, investment, and new energy, as well as further enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples.

"The tomatoes in Zhuhai taste so good!" Siles exclaimed. At the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Modern Agriculture Demonstration Park, the leading high-tech modern agriculture demonstration project founded by Huafa Group in Zhuhai, Siles tasted tomatoes, strawberries, colored peppers, and other safe, green, and delicious "Doumen flavors from Zhuhai" grown in the park. He praised the high-quality of vegetable and fruit there and the advanced agricultural technologies in Zhuhai. He expressed hope to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Zhuhai in agricultural science and technology.

On the afternoon of April 16th, Huang Zhihao, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Zhuhai Municipal Committee and Mayor of Zhuhai, met with Siles. The mayor hoped that both sides would carry out more extensive and in-depth cooperation in the fields of new energy, resource sharing, economic and trade exchanges, and strive to achieve win-win results.

Siles thanked Zhuhai for the warm reception. He hoped that both sides would give full play to their respective advantages, continue to deepen friendly and cultural exchanges, further strengthen communication, deepen cooperation in the fields of industrial development, trade, and investment, and achieve mutual benefit and common development.

On the morning of April 17th, Siles visited the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. On the Blue Dolphin Island, Siles listened to the introduction by professionals and viewed the construction models, gaining a deep understanding of the story of the bridge's construction. "How far is it from here to Macao?" "Is this place open 24 hours a day, even when the winter wind is strong?" Siles asked the staff with great interest about the geographical advantages and management systems of the bridge, and observed the busy and orderly traffic conditions on the bridge.

In Zhuhai Haibin Park, Siles visited the "International Friendship Grove", a newly established themed grove for foreign dignitaries to plant friendship trees in Zhuhai city. As the first ambassador to officially visit Zhuhai city this year, Siles was invited to plant the first tree (Lagerstroemia speciosa 大叶紫薇) representing international friendship in the grove.

After he finished preparing the soil, watering it, and planting the tree, the Bolivian Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the achievements of Zhuhai's green ecological construction and development concepts, and also his gratitude to Zhuhai and the Zhuhai Foreign Affairs Office for giving him an opportunity to plant a tree representing the friendship between China and Bolivia in the beautiful Zhuhai Haibin Park. He believed that this tree was of great significance and hoped that the friendship between China and Bolivia would be evergreen like the towering tree. This tree will always hold a special place in Siles's heart, and he hoped that he could come back to Zhuhai more often in the future to visit his "tree child".

In the afternoon of the same day, Siles visited the Zhuhai Planning and Exhibition Hall to gain a detailed understanding of Zhuhai's history, ecological protection, urban planning, and construction. He saw tremendous changes in the city's urban development.

Before leaving Zhuhai, Siles expressed that during his brief stay in Zhuhai, he had gained a deep understanding of Zhuhai's development and advantages. He also deeply felt the enthusiasm, vitality, and charm of the city. Bolivia was very willing to carry out friendly exchanges with Zhuhai and looked forward to further strengthening cooperation with Zhuhai in various levels and fields. This cooperation aimed to promote friendship and make positive contributions to the continuous development of relations between the two countries.
