Recently, the "Joyful Connection in Guangdong: Together to See China" event welcomed renowned international photographers to Dongguan's Binhaiwan Bay Area. Amidst breathtaking ocean views and golden sunsets, these world-class photographers immersed themselves in the vibrant energy and cultural allure of this emerging coastal city.
Among the four visiting photographers were Pulitzer Prize winners and recipients of the World Press Photo Award, whose works have left significant marks on the global photography scene.
From the moment they arrived at Dongguan's Golden Coast, the photographers eagerly set up their cameras to capture the azure seascape. Michael Nelson, chief photographer for the European Pressphoto Agency (EPA) in Los Angeles, enthusiastically helped locals frame perfect shots against the sea's backdrop. Through his lens, each person's smile became a vivid story against the endless blue horizon.
Ringo Chiu, an acclaimed Chinese-American photographer, was visiting Dongguan's Binhaiwan Bay Area for the first time. He was captivated by the natural beauty and the vibrant atmosphere of daily life. In his view, Binhaiwan not only showcases the harmony of nature and modernity but also brims with warmth and human connection. His photos focused on people enjoying life — playful children, strolling couples, and joyful friends — their expressions and gestures radiating life's simple pleasures.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in shades of orange and red, photographers and locals alike stood spellbound at the shoreline. Their silhouettes, framed by shimmering waters and a glowing sky, created a living masterpiece, encapsulating the unique charm of the Binhaiwan Bay Area.'
The visit also highlighted the area's dynamic urban development. From the observation tower, the photographers marveled at the rapid progress in Jiaoyiwan, an integral part of Dongguan's innovation-driven transformation. This burgeoning district is fostering industries like advanced electronics, artificial intelligence, life sciences, and modern services, drawing major players such as OPPO, Vivo, and Xiao Tiancai. The convergence of talent, innovation, and industry is shaping Binhaiwan into a beacon of modern coastal living.
As Ringo Chiu gazed across the expansive waters toward Shenzhen and Guangzhou, he remarked, "This is my first time here, and the view is breathtaking. With its strategic location near Hong Kong and Macau, Binhaiwan has a promising future."
The photographs captured during this event will be exhibited in a dual-city showcase in Guangzhou and Los Angeles from December 2024 to January 2025, offering a glimpse into Guangdong's vibrant beauty and Dongguan's coastal allure.
