Guangzhou Baiyun Airport reports over 56 million passengers in first three quarters of 2024

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport has achieved remarkable growth in 2024, handling 56.34 million passengers by the end of September, marking a year-on-year increase of 21.68%. The airport also recorded 378,400 aircraft movements (+12%) and 1.74 million tons of cargo and mail throughput (+20.79%) during the same period. Its revenue reached 5.3 billion yuan, while net profits attributable to shareholders surged by 143.71% to 668 million yuan.

The airport, as home to major integrated ground service providers such as FedEx and SF Express, boasts over 600,000 square meters of cargo terminal space with an annual handling capacity of 3.8 million tons. In 2023, it handled over 2 million tons of cargo and mail, ranking 11th globally and maintaining its position as China's second-largest cargo hub for the fourth consecutive year.

With the completion of the airport's Phase III expansion, the total cargo terminal area will exceed 1 million square meters, increasing its annual cargo capacity to over 6 million tons.

Collaborating with over 80 domestic and international airlines, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is operating regular cargo flights to 55 destinations. Its network spans key global regions, including Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, and RCEP countries such as Japan, South Korea, and Singapore. With connections to over 230 major cities worldwide, the airport plays a pivotal role in linking Southeast Asia with the world.
