Guangzhou Nansha port economy conference convenes with major deals

The China (Guangzhou Nansha) High-Quality Port-Neighborhood Economy Development Conference was held on June 30 at the Nansha International Convention and Exhibition Center, gathering global port economy leaders. Twenty-one projects worth nearly seven billion yuan were signed on-site.

Guangzhou Port Group Chairman Huang Bo announced a 20 billion yuan investment during the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030) to advance major projects, including the Nansha International Universal Terminal and Phase V of Nansha Port.

PSA International China CEO Raymond Lim highlighted recent progress in the Node-to-Network (N2N) strategy with Guangzhou Port Group, citing the April 2025 extension of the N2N proof of concept to the Nansha terminal via the COSCO MEX service. With over 20 back-to-back calls between Singapore and Guangzhou, PSA has identified Guangzhou Port as a key partner in improving global network efficiency. At the conference, PSA and Guangzhou Port Group signed a new strategic cooperation agreement, further strengthening their partnership.

The event also marked several milestones: the inauguration of the Greater Bay Area (Nansha) Port-neighboring Industrial Cluster and GBA Shipping Joint Trading Center; the launch of the Greater Bay Area Export Container (ASEAN) Freight Index and the Guangzhou Shipping Exchange Vessel Valuation Platform; and the establishment of a high-level expert advisory team.
