1st phase of 135th Canton Fair concludes; overseas buyers increased by 23.2%

The first phase of the 135th Canton Fair concluded today, with the number of overseas buyers attending the fair increasing significantly. As of April 19, 125,440 overseas buyers from 212 countries and regions around the world participated offline, an increase of 23.2 percent over the same period last session. Among them, 85,682 buyers came from the BRI participating countries, accounting for 68.3 percent; 28,902 buyers from RCEP member states, accounting for 23 percent; and 22,694 buyers from the European and American countries, accounting for 18.1 percent.

During the first five days, the Canton Fair Complex had been crowded with exhibitors and buyers from both China and abroad, witnessing a good start to this session.

Highlighting advanced manufacturing, the first phase features new products, new technologies, new materials, and new ideas, accelerating the emergence of a large number of high-end, intelligent, green products such as new medical equipment, clean robots, and new energy vehicles, meeting the demands of the international markets.

The online platform of the Canton Fair is operating as usual, with 47 functions optimized and upgraded to better facilitate efficient trades. As of April 19, the exhibitors have uploaded more than 2.5 million exhibits, and their online stores have received a total of 230,000 visits. The cumulative number of visitors reached 7.33 million, of which overseas visitors accounted for 90 percent, and 305,785 overseas buyers from 229 countries and regions participated online.

The second phase of the 135th Canton Fair will be held from April 23 to 27. With the theme of "Quality Home Life," the second phase will focus on 15 exhibition areas of household goods, gifts and decorations, building materials, as well as furniture. There will be 9,820 offline exhibitors, and 220 companies from 30 countries and regions will participate in the import exhibition.
