As the 16th edition of its kind, the World Culture Festival of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies(GDUFS) concluded recently.
Representatives from the foreign consulates in Guangzhou, enterprises, media organizations, and universities in Guangdong province, as well as leaders and international students from GDUFS, attended the festival.
The festival featured a World Cuisine Corridor where international students and volunteers from over 31 countries and regions set up booths to serve food from their homelands. From Türkiye's Lahmacun to French Canelé paired with red wine, the food from various countries provided a world culinary tour.

A special "Intangible Cultural Heritage" booth was also set up to showcase the art of Chinese lacquered fans, allowing students from different countries to experience the charm of Chinese culture.
After night fell, a special gala was staged for students from around the world to get dressed in their traditional costumes and bring performances featuring a variety of dances, including Slavic-style dances from Russia, the Sama dance from Iran, and more. As the event came to a close, the students came together to sing “We Are the World," a song that highlights the solidarity among people from diverse backgrounds.

As a signature event of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, the World Culture Festival has been held 16 times and serves as an important platform for international students at the university to showcase their cultures, aiming to promote cultural exchange.

"The performances by international students were a feast for the eyes. I'm glad to have such an opportunity to experience the charm of diverse cultures,” Zhou, a student from the Faculty of English Language and Culture at GDUFS, said after the gala.
