Call for entries: The first GBA International Communication Competition for College Students kicks off

To provide a platform for the youth to bring out their fresh and unique perspectives on the world, GDToday and the School of Communication and Journalism at Sun Yat-sen University now jointly launch the first Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Communication Competition for College Students.

From December 24, 2024 until April 1, 2025, students from around the globe—whether you're in a junior college, undergraduate, master's, or doctoral program—can submit your best international communication works for a chance to win prizes. Entries can be submitted either by groups, such as universities, departments, and campus media, or by individuals.

Whether you have a compelling Chinese story to tell, want to showcase the transformation of the Greater Bay Area, reflect on the moments of everyday life, or share your insights on pressing global issues—whatever your passion, you are welcome to make submissions.

The competition covers a wide range of topics, including China's stories, the development of the Greater Bay Area, world news, global civilizations, the environment and climate, everyday life, and more. As long as your work is created in a non-Chinese language and is suited for international communication, we encourage you to take part and make your voices heard!

The competition will feature five categories: written reports, data journalism, audio and video works, documentary photography, and multimedia works (including animations, H5 pages, comic strips, news games, etc.). Each category will recognize outstanding entries with one first prize, two-second prizes, three third prizes, and several honourable mentions. The judging panel will evaluate all submissions, and winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Guangzhou in May 2025.
