New international flights added as Baiyun Airport braced for Spring Festival travel rush

As the 2025 Spring Festival holiday approaches, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is gearing up for a significant surge in passenger traffic. This rise is attributed to several factors, including the Spring Festival travel rush, extended holidays, booming outbound tourism, and relaxed visa policies. To accommodate the growing demand, the airport will launch three new international routes to Jeju, Bangkok, and Osaka during the holiday period.

Authorities at Baiyun Airport predict that daily passenger traffic during the Spring Festival holiday will increase by 5% to 10% compared to usual periods, with an estimated 46,000 to 49,000 travellers passing through the airport each day. The busiest days for inbound travel are expected to be between January 21 and 25 and February 4 to 7, while outbound travel will peak from January 20 to 23 and January 28 to February 1.

In response to the anticipated crowds, Baiyun Immigration Checkpoint has advised travellers to stay updated on flight information and check-in areas, arrive at the airport early to complete immigration procedures, and avoid peak travel times if possible. Travellers experiencing difficulties during the process are encouraged to seek assistance from on-site immigration officers or call the 12367 immigration service hotline.
