China Southern to resume Guangzhou-Jeju route
China Southern Airlines plans to resume direct flights between Guangzhou and Jeju, a volcanic island and popular tourist destination off the southern coast of the Republic of Korea, on December 19, 2026, after nearly a decade suspension.
The service will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, using Airbus A320neo aircraft.
Flight CZ8127 will depart from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 9:35 am and arrive in Jeju at 1:35 pm. The return flight, CZ8128, will leave Jeju at 2:35 pm and arrive in Guangzhou at 5:05 pm (all times are local).

China Southern to resume Guangzhou–New Delhi direct route
China Southern Airlines will resume its daily Guangzhou-New Delhi route starting September 21, marking the relaunch of China Southern's India service after a six-year suspension, China Southern announced on September 12.
It is the third major Chinese airline to restore services between the two countries, following China Eastern Airlines and Air China.
China Southern said the route will be operated by Boeing 737 series aircraft with one daily flight. The outbound flight CZ359 will depart from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 3:35 pm (local time) and arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi at 7 pm.
The return flight CZ360 will depart from Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi at 8:20 pm and arrive at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 4:15 am the following day.
The resumption of this route will boost bilateral trade between China and India and make travel much easier for tourists and students, the carrier said.
The resumption comes amid warming ties between the two countries, and other airlines from China and India are also expanding their services in India.
Russian airline S7 to resume Novosibirsk-Guangzhou flights in December
Russian carrier S7 Airlines will resume direct flights between Guangzhou and Novosibirsk, Russia's largest city in Siberia and a major scientific, industrial and business center in the region, from December 21, reconnecting the two cities for the first time since the route was suspended in 2019.

The airline plans to operate two flights a week under flight numbers S7 5743 and S7 5744, using Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The outbound flights will depart from Novosibirsk on Mondays and Thursdays, with return services from Guangzhou operating on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The route will become S7 Airlines' third air link to Guangzhou, following its existing service to Irkutsk and a new route to Vladivostok, which is scheduled to be launched in late October.
The addition of Novosibirsk will bring the number of Russian destinations served by direct flights from Guangzhou to five, alongside Moscow, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk and Vladivostok.
Shenzhen opens nonstop air route to Indonesia's Surabaya

Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport welcomed the inaugural flight of a new nonstop passenger service to Surabaya, Indonesia, on Tuesday, the first direct passenger connection between South China and the East Java city.
China Southern Airlines will operate the route twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, starting Sept. 16, with an Airbus A321 aircraft. Outbound flight CZ8341 departs Shenzhen at 4:45 p.m. and arrives in Surabaya at 9 p.m. Return flight CZ8342 departs Surabaya at 10:30 p.m. local time and arrives in Shenzhen at 5 a.m. the following day.
The new route adds another direct connection between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and Indonesia, facilitating business and tourism between the two regions.
Surabaya is Indonesia's second-largest city and a major economic center in East Java. The city has also hosted APEC-related meetings.
The launch comes as Shenzhen prepares to host APEC meetings in 2026. The new service is expected to improve travel between Shenzhen and Indonesia for participants in APEC-related activities and other business travelers.
The route could also strengthen economic ties between the GBA and East Java, particularly in manufacturing and trade, by making business travel between the two regions more convenient.

Starting Dec. 14, Shenzhen Airlines will launch direct Shenzhen–Sydney flights four times a week, operated by Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft.
The airline launched its first direct flight to Australia last December and will increase its three weekly flights to and from Melbourne to five starting Oct. 25.
Sydney is the capital of New South Wales and Australia's largest city. It is renowned for its stunning natural harbor, iconic landmarks such as the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbor Bridge, and its vibrant, multicultural city vibes. As a major financial, cultural, and tourism hub, it offers world-class dining, arts, shopping, and entertainment, along with beautiful beaches like Bondi and Manly.

Meanwhile, Melbourne is Australia's second-largest city, celebrated for its lively cultural scene, world-class coffee, and passion for sport and the arts. It is also the gateway to natural wonders such as the Great Ocean Road and Phillip Island.
Since 2023, under the APEC framework, regional economic and trade exchanges between China and Australia have boomed. Shenzhen and Sydney have close cooperation in areas such as clean energy and city planning.
With the APEC Summit to be held in Shenzhen this November, ties between Shenzhen and Sydney are expected to further expand and deepen.
There are currently 63 international passenger routes linking Shenzhen with destinations in nearly 40 countries and regions around the world.
