Over a hundred journalists from around the world began a special tour of Guangdong on September 3, ahead of the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Shenzhen this November. One stop took us inside OPPO's headquarters in Dongguan, the heart of China's smartphone industry.

According to Xinhua News Agency, the Asia-Pacific Media Forum will kick off in Shenzhen on September 5.

Delegations from APEC economies visited technological achievements such as new energy vehicles, drones and embodied intelligence in Guangzhou. The visit left a deep impression on the delegations. Many participants said they looked forward to business collaboration with Guangdong.

Domestic routes saw particularly strong demand to northeastern, eastern, southwestern and Xinjiang destinations. Average seat occupancy exceeded 90 percent on routes including Shenzhen-Shanghai Hongqiao, Guiyang/Chongqing-Shanghai Pudong, Urumqi-Taiyuan and Shenyang-Yinchuan.

Registration for the 2026 Guangzhou Marathon opened at 10 a.m. on September 2, with an entry quota of 30,000 participants. The race is scheduled for December 20.

The construction of the Eastern Guangdong Intercity Railway reaches a major milestone with beam installation completed on the main line between Chaozhou East and Chaoshan stations on August 31, paving the way for track laying and bringing the region closer to its goal of creating a "30-minute commuting circle."
